hello dears! betty white here, ready to spill the tea on the fabulous happenings at the London Design Week! it's that time of year again – the air is getting warmer, and design centre, chelsea harbour, is bursting with the latest and greatest in home trends. think fresh colours, innovative materials, and a whole lot of inspiration. i’m simply thrilled to share all the delightful details with you.
What to expect: a feast for the eyes
from march 9th to 13th, the design centre opens its doors to a dazzling array of 135 showrooms. you’ll find everything from stunning wallpapers and luxurious fabrics to gorgeous lighting, furniture, and accessories. it’s a veritable wonderland for anyone who loves to create a beautiful home. it's the perfect opportunity to mingle with industry insiders and discover the newest product launches for spring 2026. plus, there's a fantastic programme of talks, demonstrations and creative collaborations.
Conversations in design: insightful talks
one of the highlights is the renowned Conversations in Design series. this year, we have francis sultana, ceo and artistic director of the david gill gallery, chatting with talib choudhry, editor of house & garden. they'll be exploring the world of francis’s work and delving into creating elegant interiors that beautifully blend contemporary and historic design with a touch of continental flair. a truly captivating conversation!
English influence in american design
noni ware from house & garden will also be hosting a discussion with interior designers tiffany duggan and sean symington, alongside emily mould, director of design and excellence at the romo group. they’ll be discussing how the distinctly english sensibility has shaped the identity of american design. a fascinating look at cross-cultural influences, wouldn’t you agree?
Collaborations to delight: a sneak peek
oh, the collaborations! we have some truly exciting partnerships happening this year. original btc and buchanan studio have teamed up on neotenic, a unique lighting collection celebrating ancient glassblowing techniques. and deus ex gardenia is back with two new collaborations: one with the british museum, exploring the relationship between art and nature, and another with my mulberry house, creating whimsical wallpapers and decorative borders. how charming!
Pop-up showrooms and more
beyond the permanent showrooms, design avenue will host a delightful array of pop-up brands, including artfinder, blithfield, and birdie fortescue. birdie fortescue is launching her vasanti collection, a joyful mix of color and pattern inspired by the Sanskrit word for spring. expect rattan-inspired furniture, sculptural lighting, and decorative accessories designed to celebrate the beauty of handmade craftsmanship.
