Gwyneth paltrow's style vault heads to auction: dior, design & more

Forget the Oscars gown. Gwyneth Paltrow is parting with a curated collection of her most cherished possessions, and the pieces are heading to auction. Julien's Auctions is hosting the semi-annual sale, featuring everything from designer clothing and jewelry to surprisingly stylish home furnishings.

A glimpse inside the lifestyle of a style icon

The sale, titled “Gwyneth Paltrow Lexicon of Style & The Archival Edit,” offers a rare peek into the life and evolving taste of the actress and lifestyle guru. This isn’t just about high fashion; it’s a comprehensive look at how Paltrow has curated her world over the years. The live auction will take place on March 24th and 25th at the Peninsula Beverly Hills, with online bidding available for those unable to attend in person.

Among the highlights are a 17-piece Roche Bobois Mah Jong sofa, a modular design created in 1971 by Hans Hopfer. The sofa, once a fixture in Paltrow’s Hamptons home, is upholstered in ivory fabric. Estimates for the sofa range from $6,000 to $8,000.

Collectors will also find a pair of Royère-style Polar Bear chairs, prized for their plush upholstery and playful design. These chairs, sourced for Paltrow’s Brentwood estate by designer Windsor Smith, are estimated to fetch between $6,000 and $8,000. A late 19th/early 20th-century apothecary cabinet with a slate top and brass handles, boasting 24 drawers, is also part of the collection, with an estimated value of $2,000 to $4,000.

“Following her recent move, Gwyneth saw an opportunity to thoughtfully release a selection of her most treasured possessions—objects that have marked distinct moments in her life and evolving sense of style,” says Martin J. Nolan, co-founder and executive director of Julien’s Auctions. The diversity of the collection is what truly sets it apart, offering a holistic view of Paltrow's life.
