Rh unveils first rh estates offerings, bringing traditional design to the mass market

Following the acquisition of historic design houses Formations, Dennis & Leen, and Michael Taylor Designs, RH has finally released the inaugural products under its new RH Estates line.

Embracing a classic, eclectic aesthetic

As RH CEO Gary Friedman notes, the next design trend is shifting towards eclecticism and the California look of the 1980s and early '90s – a mix of classic antiques and contemporary pieces in a more casual, indoor-outdoor approach to living.

RH Estates' initial offerings reflect this, featuring cast stone tables evoking Greek columns, chairs inspired by sculptural forms from Diego Giacometti, and tables with corrugated iron legs and cream-colored stone tops.

Casting a classic yet modern eye on the market, Friedman sees an opportunity to create a product line that doesn't currently exist. 'RH Estates is our answer to that opportunity,' he asserts.
